Even powerful machines such as Macs require regular maintenance. Yasu was created specifically for this purpose. It gives you the possibility of running various Unix shell scripts, to clear cache files used by OS X or web browsers and to remove other junk data. The application was also created with ease of use in mind. Rather than looking through a thick layer of menus for cleanup options, you can do everything on one window.

All the cleanup options you need are placed right in front of you, on a compact user interface. You only need to click a series of check boxes, according to what type of data you wish to target. As previously mentioned, the application can be aimed at system or browser cache files, log files and other piled up data which you don't need.

The application can restart or shut down your Mac automatically, once it deletes all cache files, but you can also set it to quit, set the Mac to sleep mode, log out the current user or to do nothing. You can select one of these actions in a drop menu, in the lower region of the interface. Additionally, you can bring up a general settings panel, on which you can tick a few other options, for displaying multi-user warnings or setting the application to shred data, instead of simply deleting the files.

Pros

Yasu is lightweight and you can have it up and running in no time. The application is capable of removing various cache files. You can target specific file types with only a few clicks.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to address. With Yasu's straightforward functionality, keeping a Mac clean doesn't require anything more than a few clicks.
